Warm Neutral Bathroom Remodel — Austin, TX

    The Challenge

The homeowner wanted a bathroom that felt warm, refined, and timeless — not trendy, not cold, not clinical. The brief called for a material palette that leaned into natural texture without going rustic, and a fixture selection that felt elevated without being ostentatious. The existing bathroom was a standard builder-grade space with no personality and no cohesion. The task was a full teardown and rebuild inside the same footprint, with every material decision working toward a single, unified aesthetic.

    Our Approach

Brothers Construction Group executed a complete bathroom renovation centered on a large-format textured porcelain tile in a warm greige tone with a subtle linear surface relief — applied floor-to-ceiling across all three shower walls and continued onto the bathroom's main accent wall behind the vanity. The consistency of that tile across both zones visually expands the room and creates a wraparound warmth that anchors the entire space. The shower floor breaks from the wall tile with a terracotta-and-sage encaustic patterned tile — a geometric floral motif that introduces color and handcrafted character at the one surface where it reads most intentionally. That same encaustic tile continues as the bathroom floor, running wall to wall and tying the shower and vanity zones together. The shower enclosure uses a frameless glass panel — no heavy framing, maximum visual openness — paired with matte black fixtures throughout: fixed shower head, slide-bar hand wand, dual-handle faucet, and a minimalist wall-mount sconce at the mirror. A built-in niche recessed into the shower back wall provides storage without visual clutter. The vanity is a warm wood-tone floating cabinet with a creamy quartz countertop and undermount rectangular sink, topped by a black-framed rectangular mirror sized to the full vanity width. Crown molding at the ceiling line brings a traditional refinement that softens the contemporary tile work beneath it.

    The Result

A bathroom that reads warm and intentional from every angle. The textured tile gives the walls depth without pattern overload, the encaustic floor delivers the room's personality in controlled doses, and the matte black hardware ties it all together without visual noise. Crown molding at the ceiling is the detail that elevates it from a renovation to a remodel with genuine craft behind it. Compact, complete, and built to last.
