Kitchen Remodeling
The homeowner wanted a kitchen that made a statement without a full structural overhaul. The existing layout was serviceable but visually flat — a single cabinet color, dated countertops, and no backsplash detail worth looking at. The ask was to inject personality and a clear design identity into a compact kitchen footprint while keeping the work practical and the budget controlled. The specific challenge: build a color-forward kitchen that doesn't feel trendy in two years — one where every material choice earns its place.
Brothers Construction Group executed a targeted kitchen remodel built around a deliberate two-tone cabinet strategy. Upper cabinets were installed in a deep navy shaker profile with brushed nickel bar pulls — bold enough to anchor the room without overwhelming it. Lower cabinets were finished in a contrasting warm gray shaker, giving the base a grounded, neutral counterpoint that lets the upper color read clearly. The countertop is a white terrazzo-style quartz with grey and charcoal flecks — durable, easy to maintain, and visually active enough to hold its own against the colored cabinetry without competing. The backsplash is a white square tile field across the full run, clean and recessive by design — except for one calculated exception: a 3×3 panel of hand-painted Talavera-style tiles centered above the sink and repeated behind the range, framed in a gold accent border. Blue floral motifs on a white ground echo the navy cabinetry above while adding an artisan, handcrafted layer to what would otherwise be a purely modern kitchen. Stainless steel appliances and a brushed nickel faucet round out the finish package.
A kitchen with a clear point of view. The navy-gray cabinet combination reads contemporary and deliberate, and the Talavera tile inserts give the space a signature detail that no amount of budget finishes can replicate. The quartz countertop ties the palette together at the work surface level, and the full-field white tile keeps the background from competing with the focal points. Compact footprint, outsized personality.
